Nokton 42,5mm f0.95 is singing in the rain!

Em5 with the Nokton 42.5mm f0.95 @f0.95, hand held.

Not easy shooting a running horse with manual focus and f0.95 😛

Got a couple of frames right though. Moore then i anticipated 🙂

Laters!

Nokton horsing around

nokton-horinsing3 nokton-horsing-2 nokton-horsing-4 nokton-horsing-5 horsing-1Last night we hade some heavy wind come in, our landlords flagpole and our tomatoes couldnt take it anymore.

Today we went horse trailer riding. Scary shits. I DONT trust those animals.

Funny when they yawn though 🙂

All shot wideopen, the horse with the 17.5 and the rest with the 42.5. With the Em-5

When you edit the pics from the Voigtländers you gotto be somewhat carful with the “clarity”. The somewhat  “busy” character of the bokeh in these lenses tend to be more apparent if you (like me)

prefer to push it quite a bit.

Its better to use clairity in selective ways rather then to use it across the entire frame, if you ask me that is…

Laters.

Day 3 with Nokton 42.5mm f0.95

All but the last one, wich is shot @f5.6, is shot wideopen. It is sharp! Perhaps not as sharp as i initially said. But sharp! Only slightly sharper then my Nokton 17.5mm. I still belive colors and bokeh are alot better.

Separation in the 42.5mm is alot better to. It really gives you that “FF” feel.

When zooming in on pic nr6 i could clerly see her eyes and face detalis, wich is pretty impressive for a 16mp shot when cropped that much, its not really that much left to work with. And there is quite alot of CA around the handlabars on the stairs and around the postbox in the same shot.

So far i dont regret getting the lens for one second! Totally worth it! 🙂

Check black later for more “bokehlicious” shots.

Auf Wiedersehen

2nd Day with the Voigtländer Nokton 42.5mm f0.95

nokton-42.5-web-6 nokton-42.5-web-7 VS-1 vs-2 nokton-42.5-web1 nokton-42.5-web-2 nokton-42.5-web-3 nokton-42.5-web-4So here are some more shots. And i know comparing a FF camera/lens to MFT camera/lens is like compareing apples and oranges.

The crops in the shots are not of the same size, and thats due to the differens in MP of the sensors, 21.1 vs 16 i think? And i had to stop down the Sigma to get ~equal dof. (f1.9 would have been better..)

The sigma appears a tiny bit sharper, and that is stopped down (wideopen its not) and thanks to the bigger sensor. Well thats about as far im prepared to go in to that discussion.

Have a look at the pictures and make up your own mind as what combo you would prefer.

My empression so far? Well, its not going to come of my Om-d for some time i am guessing. I totally love it, i love the 17.5mm aswell.

The 17.5 has somewhat wideangle wich makes it a bit harder to shoot with. but when you get it right, it is right.

When you get it right the same goes for the 42.5. But with the 42.5 you can take a dump right where your standing. Then take a picture of it, and its going to look awesome.

Its not quite that easy with the 17.5 even though its awesome.

(but thats my opinion when it comes to most quality 35&85mm FF equivalent lenses. 35mm looks better but is harder to shoot with, due to the wider angle)

More updates later.

Ja mata!
