Voigtländer Nokton 35mm f1.2 II Asfärisch ! :) (Inernational coffee day)

12

Sony a7r + Nokton 35mm f1.2 II @1.2

So finally i got my hands on a Nokton 35mm f1.2. I have been eyeballing this lens ever sence i bought my A7, at one point i had pretty much decided to get it, and they pumped up the prices with close to 20% over the weekend so i got pissed and did´nt get it.

Today i got it used, good value! Though it took a 2hour car ride (one way). But i can already start to suspect that it was worth it, and that it will never leave my A7 🙂

The portrait is a test shot over a köpp (cup) of coffee and testing it out befor buying.

Stopped the car on my way home to snap the postbox pic befor heading to work. I´ll try to get some more shots done tomorrow!

At last a Nokton post! Havent been doing alot of “creative” photography lately, so the Pana 12-32mm haven been alot easier to bring. Hence the lack of Nokton shots in my blog.

We hade some deer show up on our lawn yesterday, so i wipped it out and took a couple. And then headed out to try and get some fancy Coffee picture idea, but i was to tired, so this is all that i got.

(Video shot on GoPro 3+ Black edition, skiing in Sälen the other day)

That cover the photos taken on the Mystery tour. Video upload is done in a couple of minutes. Didn´t shoot much, only happend to bring 1 SD card.

And the Gopro got to use it. Hence  all the Iphone photos.

All the ski gear worked fine though! It was fun to really put them to the test. Crampons were nice to have on the icy parts.

Great trip! But i accidentally changed the video setting one on the first day so it all turned to shit. All the video in the clip is from yesterday.

Nokton 42.5mm f0.95 time killing.

Eye Lady Smoker Cow

Had some time to kill today when waiting for my number to come up at the police station (i am getting my passport renewed 😛 )

Like the topic says, they are all shot with the 42.5mm, all wide open.

Still amazed every time i use this sukker. Sharp as balls.

Sorry for the poor composition of the portrait pics, but i always get so stressed out after i ask someone if i can take their picture i loose all control.

All i try to do is nail sharpness as fast as i can and get out 😛

Yeahhh, more skis (sorry about that) :p

Baged 999 meters today 🙂 Despite the crappy weather and snowconditions!

Just got my boots back from the shop, almost perfect now, they pushed the toe out alittle. My bigger foot needs a little more work, then we are home!

Both shot at with em-5 @f0.95 with the Nokton 17.5mm

Some CA around the text there in shot 2. Other then that, tack-sharp as usual.

Past week

Mostly been working the kinks of my dolly the past week(s) so havent got alot of photos to show for. I´ll post a link for the timelapse i have made so far as soon as i complete some sort of clip.

The weather have´nt been very interesting the last few days, atleast not asfar as timelapse is conserned. So.. “Don´t wait up”

But here is a couple of shots! The 42.5mm keep amaze me, totaly sharp all the time.

All of the above shots is taken @f0.95 with the 42.5mm, exept the McDonalds M, thats shot with the 17.5 @around f4 or so.

Well.

Ja mata!

Dolly!!! :)

Finally i finished my Dolly and track! The thumb has been sitter there. well now its free. The carrige runs on a little elctric motor powerd by an AAA battery.

The track is about 170cm and it takes the camera 7min to get from side to side. Total cost is around 70 Us dollars.

(counting rail and waggon) not the tripods and “interwallomter” or whatever its called.

Its size and weight is about the same as the Em-5 without lens.

Video is shot with Samyang 7.5 and Voigtländer 17.5 & 42.5

Dont know what i did, but i messed up the Timelpase quality pretty bad when editing. I dont know much about settings for video. Sigh.

The focus “shifting” parts of the video is shot on cv 42.5. Most of the timelpase with 7.5mm, exept for the part showing the front of the trailer, thats the CV 17.5mm.

Well thats it for today! Lalters.

2nd Day with the Voigtländer Nokton 42.5mm f0.95

nokton-42.5-web-6 nokton-42.5-web-7 VS-1 vs-2 nokton-42.5-web1 nokton-42.5-web-2 nokton-42.5-web-3 nokton-42.5-web-4So here are some more shots. And i know comparing a FF camera/lens to MFT camera/lens is like compareing apples and oranges.

The crops in the shots are not of the same size, and thats due to the differens in MP of the sensors, 21.1 vs 16 i think? And i had to stop down the Sigma to get ~equal dof. (f1.9 would have been better..)

The sigma appears a tiny bit sharper, and that is stopped down (wideopen its not) and thanks to the bigger sensor. Well thats about as far im prepared to go in to that discussion.

Have a look at the pictures and make up your own mind as what combo you would prefer.

My empression so far? Well, its not going to come of my Om-d for some time i am guessing. I totally love it, i love the 17.5mm aswell.

The 17.5 has somewhat wideangle wich makes it a bit harder to shoot with. but when you get it right, it is right.

When you get it right the same goes for the 42.5. But with the 42.5 you can take a dump right where your standing. Then take a picture of it, and its going to look awesome.

Its not quite that easy with the 17.5 even though its awesome.

(but thats my opinion when it comes to most quality 35&85mm FF equivalent lenses. 35mm looks better but is harder to shoot with, due to the wider angle)

More updates later.
