Voigtländer Nokton 17.5mm f0.95 Review, Day #17 sort of :P

Couple of more shots from the trip, we had some sun (shown in the 4th pic) as usual shot at f0.95. This lens just keep getting more awesome all the time. The real only problem with it its the cromatic aberration, and thats not hard to correct in post.

So not a real problem then i guess 🙂

And i got to say, manuall shooting is a dream with the OM-D.

just link a button, preferably the one next to the trigger button, with the magnify setting. And there you go! Took about 700 pics with the 17.5mm this week, and i missed focus on a hand full of  frames, and most of those were shots of moving objects. And thats not the OM-D´s forte anyway 😛

Voigtlander_-web Voigtlander_-2-webDont have much to show for the last few days, alot of sun so shooting at f0.95 havent been a delight. got some shots though, using a ND8 filter, and still most shots are at a 4000th of a second.

So if youre going to buy a 0.95 lens, i guess u should get a couple of ND filters aswell, when its really cloudy and you wouldnt think its very bright out, i had to use a ND4 filter and even then i was at a 4000th.

Check back laters!

Some more photos from today, all taken @ f0.95, exept the shot of the “conference room” . i have noticed some barrel distortion in landscape shots and some coma in “macro” , maybe not so much in these shots apart from the coffe cup where i think you can see some coma.

Still, an awesome lens. You get that magic feel i miss from my Canon 5d mkii. The DOF is ofcourse not quite as short, but not far behind either 🙂

But the things like sharpness, speed, weight and looks all speek in favour of the EM-5 and with a lens like the Voigtländer 17.5mm f0.95, the DOF is almost there aswell 🙂

Some shots from today with the Voigtländer 17.5mm f0.95 , all shot @f0.95. With the exeption of the first one with the house, thats shot @f5.6 and i´ll say its “sharp as blade” but no surprise there… this is my second day with it. and the impression is that its a great lens, i thought it would have more flaws then it acutally has.

The picture with the sign show quite alot of purple on the edges, but other then that i think it handled even that situation nicely, and the sharpness at even f0.95 is really good.

More to come! Check back later for more shots from the Voigtländer!

All of the above shots are shot with the Voigtländer 17.5mm @f0.95 and highpass-filter added in PS.

I´ll be posting more shots later on, googled alot before buying the lens, and i found it hard to find photos taken of anything other then flowers, so i´ll try to keep my blog posts with the Voigtländer different!

Check back later for more shots @f0.95 ! 🙂
